Unicorn fundraising track
Prepare the story, evidence, and investor map before the first important meeting.
This track is for a company pursuing a genuinely large outcome and a financing strategy that depends on venture-scale returns. Ambition alone is not the thesis; the work is connecting that ambition to a credible sequence of evidence.
Explain why the problem is newly solvable
Name the technical, regulatory, behavioral, or distribution shift that changes what can be built now. Show why the old answer was rational before that shift.
Separate evidence from ambition
Keep two columns. In one, place facts you can defend today: user behavior, technical results, retention, contracts, or cost curves. In the other, place the future those facts may make possible. Both matter, but they should never be confused.
Build an investor map around fit
Map investors by stage, sector understanding, geography, ownership expectations, and ability to support the next round. Prestige is less useful than alignment with the particular risk your company must finance.
Practice the difficult questions
Invite candid people to challenge market size, timing, defensibility, distribution, and founder-market fit. Write the strongest version of each objection and decide whether the answer requires clearer language or new evidence.
The fundraising story is ready when it remains ambitious after every unsupported shortcut has been removed.
